Black hard hats raise money for mental health

Black Dog A mine services company is donating two dollars from the sale of every limited edition black hard hat to the Black Dog Institute in the lead up to mental health week, 5-12 October.

ProChoice Safety Gear are using the specially designed black hard hats to raise money for Black Dog;  a founding member of the Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance, a Government body formed to devise mental health best practice in the workplace.

According to Black Dog, “1 in 5 Australians will suffer from a mental illness in any given year. This figure affects business as much as the sufferer, as it is estimated that mental illness costs the Australian economy as much as $11 Billion per year. “

“Mental illness causes a higher rate of absenteeism in the workplace than physical illness or injury.”

Please contact prosafetygear.com for more information about the limited edition Black Dog hard hat or go to blackdoginstitute.org.au for more information on mental health in the workplace.
