Brenniston National Workplace Safety Survey

On a mission to make Australian workplaces safer, Creative Director of Brenniston, Pia Abrahams has launched the Brenniston National Workplace Safety Survey.

The first statistics to be released coincide with National Burns Awareness Month and prove that Australian workplaces need to up the ante when it comes to workplace safety.

June is National Burns Awareness Month which aims to drive greater awareness around burn prevention and the correct first aid treatment for burns. Abrahams’ statistics prove that Australians are asking for first aid improvements in the workplace.

Over 200 Australians put their hands up to support Abrahams’ research, and results show that:

  • 17.7% of respondents do not know how to treat a burn
  • 14.65% of respondents do not know who their designated first aider is in the workplace
  • 12.24% of respondents do not know where the workplace first aid kit is located

As Creative Director of Australia’s leading workplace first aid kit supplier, Abrahams is dedicated to improving safety in the workplace, and aims to bring awareness to the matter via the Brenniston National Workplace Safety Survey. Further results from the survey will be released at a later date.

“We were compelled to initiate the Brenniston National Workplace Safety Survey in response to the devastating fact that 182 Australians died as a result of work-related injuries in 2016. I’m astounded that so many workers around Australia don’t know who their delegated first aider is, or where to find their workplace first aid kit,” says Abrahams. “These statistics tell us how to make Australian workplaces safer.”
