Coalition expected to make changes to WHS

EricAccording to the National Safety Council of Australia, some workplace health and safety changes are likely now that the Coalition has won federal government.

The Council claims bullying laws and the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal are among the national policies earmarked for change, and the Australian Building and Construction Commission will be reinstated.

However, the LNP has promised not to change right of entry provisions for unions to investigate health and safety breaches.

Any changes that may occur will not happen until late October  or early November when Tony Abbott plans the first sitting of Parliament.

The  frontrunner to take over the Workplace Relations portfolio is Senator Eric Abetz from Tasmania. He held the shadow portfolio in Opposition.
