Depression and loneliness study: FIFO

Creeping Fatigue

Are you an Australian mining worker? Or do you know someone who is?

Research at Central Queensland University is interested in Australian mining workers aged 18 years or over who are currently fly-in fly-out (FIFO), drive-in drive-out (DIDO), bus-in bus-out (BIBO) workers or Residential (non-FIFO/DIDO/BIBO) workers to complete a 20-minute online survey about their psychological wellbeing as Australian mining workers.

All information is anonymous – you do not need to give your name or employer details. With the rise of FIFO employment there are many statements made about the negative impact on the psychological wellbeing of workers. We intend to publish the study to contribute to the evidence around the impact of FIFO employment compared to non-FIFO employment in particular whether there is a difference in the experience of depression symptoms and loneliness.
