Work health safety in challenging environments topic of Seminar Series

Michelle Baxter, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Safe Work Australia is encouraging workplace safety professionals to tune into the Australian Strategy Virtual Seminar Series tomorrow (24th October).

The live and interactive panel discussion Leadership and work health and safety in challenging working environments will feature three of Australia’s business leaders: Ann Sherry AO FAICD, Chair of Safe Work Australia, CEO of Carnival Australia and non?executive roles at Sydney Airport Corporation, ING Direct (Australia), The Myer Family Company Holdings Pty Ltd, Australian Rugby Union and Jawun,  Diane Smith-Gander, Chairman of Transfield Services, and Penny Bingham-Hall, Non-executive Director, DEXUS Property Group and BlueScope Steel.

“These women each have stellar careers leading multi-million dollar organisations accountable to not only shareholders, but the community,” Ms Baxter said.

“In this live discussion the panellists will explore how they achieve good work health and safety even when operating in challenging Australian and international environments.

“Their experience, expertise and knowledge will make for a lively discussion.”

The Australian Strategy Virtual Seminar Series is a free, online seminar series run throughout Safe Work Australia Month in October. It showcases the latest work health and safety thinking, developments, innovations and research by work health and safety regulators, experts, business leaders, and academics.
