International Mines Rescue Body Conference 2019

Mine rescue is the specialized job of rescuing miners and others who have become trapped or injured, and combating fires and other emergencies in underground mines. Mine rescue teams are trained and equipped to deal with a wide range of hazards and situations including fires, explosions, rockfalls, toxic gases, influx of water, and injuries.
The IMRB is an informal association representing mine rescue organizations from around the globe. This year’s conference will be held in Colombia. It’s them ‘Extending Knowledge. Improving Safety’ International Mines Rescue Body Conference Colombia 2019
Key information will include:
- Mining safety;
- Training on mines rescue;
- Mines rescue technologies;
- Psychology of mine emergency care;
- Management systems in mining rescue and effective operations.
The International Mining Rescue Body Conference is a training and retraining event in the prevention of accidents and mining rescue. The conference is held biannually and is organized by an IMRB member country. The event includes exhibition sessions, short courses and technical visits. Keynote presentations are held by expert professionals in security and mining rescue. The objective of the conference is to consolidate a network of knowledge in the prevention of accidents and mining rescue, i.e. a team united to save lives. A workshop will be held with the members of the IMRB in 2019 – and for the first time in a mining rescue conference. This activity will seek to re-engineer the organization.
