Nine days left to enter National Safety Awards of Excellence

NSCA AwardsBusinesses and safety professionals have until the end of next week to get their nominations in for the 2014 National Safety Awards of Excellence.

Adam Baldock, CEO and Managing Director of the National Safety Council of Australia says, “I encourage all Australian businesses to share their safety success, regardless of whether their safety initiative is big or small – if it’s making a positive different to workplace safety and culture, we want to hear about it”.

“It is also a great opportunity for a health check on your organisation’s safety standards.”

Now in its 22nd year, the Awards are designed to celebrate the heroes that contribute to the health, safety and wellbeing of workers, and the continuous improvement of safety in their business performance.

Shaun Cumming, Alliance Manager at Barwon Water Alliance who won the 2014 Award of Excellence in WHS says “Being recognised by our industry peers has given the entire team validation that the hard work everyone has put into building and maintaining our strong safety culture has been worthwhile.”

“Winning an award such as this is humbling but we have used it as motivation to drive further safety initiatives because we understand too well that complacency is an ever present danger in every workplace,” Mr Cumming said.

Nominations for the awards close 11 July 2014.
