Experience the action that is the ninth annual Mining Emergency Response Competition (MERC) by coming down to Langley Park, in the City of Perth, from 22 – 24 November 2019. One of Australia’s premier mining safety events, it won’t disappoint.
This exciting free community event showcases amazing real-life demonstrations of emergency rescue by emergency response volunteers from across WA. With a record 18 competing teams, sixty sponsors and over 120 volunteers last year, MERC has established itself as a premium industry event in the state’s resources safety calendar. We encourage you to be a part of 2019, lets aim to make it the best MERC to date! This year we have some exciting collaborations underway so watch this space for further information.
The Mining Emergency Response Competition (MERC) provides valuable skill-building opportunities for volunteer mining rescue team members, by providing a series of realistic scenarios, simulating real-life events, covering all emergency response disciplines; road crash rescue, hazardous material response, vertical rescue, firefighting, confined space, emergency team readiness and first aid.
Bring the kids as the event caters for all ages, with plenty of free activities for the kids, including rock climbing, face painting, bouncy castles, fire hose target games and colouring-in competitions.
