Recent data from Tourism Research Australia indicated that a lack of suitable transport options prevents 25% of the several million people with disability from travelling regularly.
To address this, NHP Electrical Engineering Products is excited to announce a partnership with Travellers Aid, a not-forprofit organisation which provides mobility solutions to empower people with travel related challenges to connect, engage and participate within their communities.
The lives of many Australians are restricted due to mobility-related barriers and a lack of access to suitable transport options. As an Australian-owned leader in the electrical industry, NHP is focused on understanding local business needs and finding solutions to deliver results, so partnering with an organisation to remove barriers to travel in our local communities is a natural fit.
NHP has helped Travellers Aid to acquire two new buggies which will be used to provide courtesy buggy rides at major events and at train stations, along with 25 wheelchairs which will be used for connection assistance at events attractions and train stations.
