Industry input wanted for collision management guidelines

NSW Mine Safety is seeking industry input concerning  a draft guideline for collision management systems in mines.

The guideline was developed through a working group of representatives from underground coal, unions, equipment suppliers, NSW Mine Safety and the Department of Natural Resources and Mines QLD. It is intended for use by coal mines, metalliferous mines and quarries and its purpose is to helpdefine, select and implement suitable collision management systems for mines and to provide consistency across the mining industry. It may also be used to review a system in operation.

MDG 2007 Draft guideline for the selection and implementation of collision management systems for mining is now available on the NSW Mine Safety website. There is also a separate feedback form MDG 2007 Draft guideline feedback form available on the website at: www.resources.nsw.gov.au/safety/publications/mdg.

The closing date for comment is 27 September 2013. Comments should be made on the feedback form and emailed to mine.safety@industry.nsw.gov.au or faxed to 02 4931 6790.
