Contracts worth $150M awarded at major mines

A mining services company won multiple tenders at large-scale operations.

Monadelphous Group recently secured the latest construction contract at Fortescue Metals Group’s Iron Bridge Magnetite Project, 145km south of Port Hedland.

The deal involves performing structural, mechanical and electrical and instrumentation services at the project’s Wet Process Plant. Work is expected to end before 31 December 2022.

The same contractor also successfully bid for a two-year construction tender under a panel framework agreement with BHP’s Olympic Dam Copper and Uranium Mine in Roxby Downs, 268km northwest of Port Augusta.

It was also awarded a:

  • 12-month extension for existing engineering, procurement and construction work at Worley’s and Santos’ oil and gas production facilities in Papua New Guinea’s Highlands region
  • new balance machine remediation contract at both Finucane Island and Nelson Point ports in Port Hedland with work expected to end in mid-2024
  • a 12-month extension to existing general maintenance and shutdown work at BHP’s Western Australian iron ore operations
  • another 12-month extension to existing maintenance, shutdown and project services at BHP’s Nickel West operations.

AMSJ can reveal the deals are worth a combined $150 million.
