A resources multinational honoured a devoted worker.

BHP recently declared a cafe should be named after a loyal employee at its Mining Area C operation, 334km south of Port Hedland.

The Packsaddle Village Cafe was renamed as Ziggy’s in recognition of Zivko Musulin’s 40-year stint at the proponent.

Musulin has since retired after working at the same operation for 17 years-in-a-row.

“Ziggy retired earlier this year but is certainly keeping his legacy going with his son Antonio who is following in his father’s footsteps having worked at MAC for the last 10 years as a drill and blast supervisor,” the company said in its latest Community Connect publication.

“Congratulations Ziggy!”

  • This thoughtful gesture by BHP is consistent with the company I worked with a decade ago. Our work together centered around valuing employees by treating them like partners. It enhanced both the company results and the lives of the employees. This HBR article provides more background: “More Than a Paycheck”
