Applications for METS Ignited Collaboration Award now open

Recognise your industry partners

Australian METS companies have just over three weeks remaining to apply for the annual METS Ignited Collaboration Award.

The Collaboration Award is an opportunity to recognise organisations that have worked with you to achieve mutual business success.

It will be presented to the winners at the gala dinner for the IMARC conference in Melbourne in November.

Reasons to apply

There are a number of reasons to apply for the Collaboration Award:

  • recognition in all METS Ignited publicity about the award and the gala dinner, which is sponsored by METS Ignited. This includes media releases, website and social media.
  • potential opportunity to present in the METS Ignited Delegate’s Lounge at IMARC
  • use of the METS Ignited Collaobration Award logo on company letterhead, newsletters, websites
  • presentation of the award at the IMARC gala dinner, which attracts industry leaders from Australia and abroad.

The 2016 award was won by Core Resources and Glencore Technology for their collaborative efforts in commercialising the Albion Process – a novel technology for processing refractory ores, where the valuable mineral is microscopically encapsulated in non-reactive waste and is not extractable by conventional technologies.

The criteria

The criteria is designed around recognising true collaboration between METS companies and other METS, miners and researchers.

Assessments are based on:

1. World-class collaboration in the mining/METS/research sectors demonstrating one of the following:

  • collaboration between mining companies
  • intra-industry collaboration between companies in the METS sector, regardless of size
  • collaboration between miners, METS and researchers particularly at the early stages in the innovation process.

2. Value creation for participants. The collaboration has resulted in business growth, new markets and export opportunities for the participants.

3. The partners in the collaboration seek to extend their partnership, based on additional business growth opportunities.

4. Extent to which the collaboration addresses a gap in the capacity and capability of the METS sector, and is business ready.

5. Extent to which the project will deliver national and sector wide impact.

How to apply

To apply, all parties involved in the collaboration must submit a statement of business impact to events@metsignited.org by 5pm AEDT on Friday, 29 September 2017.
