Queensland’s fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workforce have been prioritised for COVID-19 vaccination.
FIFO employees have been added to the Sunshine State’s 1B priority list, following the recent Delta strain outbreak.
“The chief health officer has also added FIFO, freight and distribution centre workers to the high-risk priority group,” Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in a public statement.
“These changes, coupled with the remarkable work of Queenslanders during this lockdown will bolster our efforts to get on top of the latest outbreak.”
Every remote mine worker who has not yet been vaccinated is encouraged to take the jab.
“I would urge any eligible worker, who has not yet been vaccinated, to jump online and register,” State Member for McConnel Grace Grace said.
