Practising certificate applications are now open for the following statutory function:
- Quarry manager – conditioned to exercise at a specific mine (previously called production manager permit)
If you currently hold a production manager permit, you will need to apply for a practising certificate to exercise the statutory function as required under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014. You will not be required to undertake further assessment (written and oral examination).
Practising certificates are issued for five years and require the holder to undertake a Resources Regulator accredited training course to maintain their competence. Further details on the training course will be provided shortly by the regulator.
How to apply
To apply for a practising certificate, complete and submit the general Practising certificate application form available on our website. Do not use the Quarry Manager conditioned application form which is for new applicants to be assessed.
The implementation period for the Quarry manager – conditioned to a specific mine is open until 31 August 2019.
Information on maintenance of competence and practising certificates is available on our website including frequently asked questions. For further advice contact the NSW Resources Regulator’s Mining competence team on 02 4063 6461 or email minesafety.competence@pl
