WA’s Dept Mines and Petroleum is inviting interested parties to participate in a short survey that will assist a review of the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004.
The review will consider ways in which improvements to the Act, its regulations and administration could be applied in the future.
The Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004 relates to the manufacture, storage, possession handling, transport, and use of explosives and dangerous goods, including the operation of major hazard facilities across Western Australia.
Section 69 of the Act sets out a requirement for an independent review of the operation and effectiveness of the Act.
This short on-line questionnaire is an opportunity for individuals and organisations to have direct input to the processes of the review.
The review will be completed by mid-year. In the coming months there will also be opportunities for industry associations, government agencies and other stakeholders to make further contributions.
