Free workshops to battle the mining blues

beyondblue is holding a series of free workshops to help HR managers, OHS managers, senior leaders, wellbeing managers in the mining and resource industry learn how to manage common mental health problems in the workplace.

The mental health risk for employees in the mining and resource sector are high, including isolation, long hours, fatigue, lack of routine, increased drug and alcohol use, and absence from family and partners.

Research indicates that work and workplace impacts on a person’s mental health, either positively or negatively, and directly impact workplaces through increased absenteeism, reduced productivity and increased costs.

The workshops will be held:

  • Melbourne – 30 May 2013 Cliftons, Level 1, 440 Collins St, VIC 3000
  • Brisbane – 6 June 2013 Cliftons, 288 Edward St Brisbane, QLD, 4000
  • Perth – 6 June 2013 Cliftons Ground Floor, 191 St Georges Terrace Perth 6000
