Miner Breaks Foot at Mount Kembla Mine

A mine worker has broken his foot 5 kilometres underground at the Dendrobium mine at Mount Kembla in New South Wales.

According to the Illawarra Mercury the incident occurred this morning when a heavy coal bucket came down on his foot, breaking several bones.The 25-year-old plant operator was quickly brought to the surface and taken by a waiting Ambulance to Wollongong Hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
