A 25 year old mine worker was trapped inside a chute at a Muswellbrook coal mine for almost two hours on Monday before rescuers were able to reach him.
According to the Newcastle Herald, the man fractured his ankle after falling more than two metres down the chute and was taken to hospital by Emergency Services after his rescue.
The incident happened at Anglo American’s Drayton Coal mine around 6.40pm on Monday evening.
