Report on mining fatalities in Western Australian mining 2000-2012 just released

WA reportWA’s Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) has just released a study undertaken in 2013 into the causes of mining fatalities in Western Australia from 2000 to 2012.

In the 13 years covered by the review, there were 52 mining-related deaths, with an average of four deaths per annum. Over this period, the industry workforce increased by 60,000.

The aim of the study was to identify key areas where industry could improve.
