Safety expert to speak in Brisbane

Sidney_DekkerWorld-renowned safety expert, Professor Sidney Dekker of Griffith University, will be sharing some of his latest research during Safe Work Month at a breakfast presentation in Brisbane next Tuesday 22 October.

Professor Dekker will present on the topic “Over the Horizon: The Future of Safety, Latest Research and Global Trends” which will be followed by a  Q&A session.

Professor Dekker has a wealth of knowledge and experience across both academic and commercial arenas with a PhD from Ohio State University, USA; previous role as a Professor of Human Factors and System Safety at Lund University, Sweden; and working as a commercial pilot. He has also won worldwide acclaim for his groundbreaking work in human factors and safety and has authored a number of best-selling books including, Second Victim: Error, Guilt, Trauma and Resilience (2013), Just Culture (2012), Drift in Failure (2011).

This presentation will provide key insight to safety leaders from the strongest performers in Mining, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Construction, Utilities and other industries and is being hosted by Conexus Consulting and u&u Executive Recruitment Partners.
