A multinational automation company enhanced its electric transmission equipment.

ABB confirmed its low voltage switchgear is 25 per cent smaller than competitors and safer, higher performing and better digitally connected.

NeoGear’s smaller size boasts a 20 per cent energy saving, and 92 per cent fewer bus-bar parts than traditional switchgear.

“Improved operational safety, sustainability and integrated smart functionality makes it compatible with any digitalisation strategy,” ABB electrification global product manager for NeoGear Ronald van Leeuwen said according to Prime Creative Media.

The latest update includes real-time condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, remote assistance, fault finding and data analytics capabilities.

The equipment also has an arc ignition protected zone to keep routine maintenance workers safe from various hazards.

“Our first NeoGear Motor Control Center is installed in a remote part of our mining operation, in a dusty and harsh environment,” ABB electrification product marketing manager Saw-Chin Toh said according to the publisher.
