Monadelphous workshop employee dies in a tragic accident

Monadelphous Group worker killed in tragic accident

Family and friends have paid tribute to a Monadelphous Group (ASX: MND) engineering workshop employee who was killed in a workplace accident in Kalgoorlie at the weekend.

26-year-old Hayden Grubb from Kalgoorlie was reportedly crushed in an incident at Monadelphous group workshop in Kalgoorlie on Saturday.

Haydyn’s family, in a statement, said “We are devastated at the loss of our son and brother, Haydyn Charles Grubb, who passed away yesterday morning, aged 26.

We were proud as punch of Haydyn. He’d really come out of his shell over the last few months and even weeks. He’d bought a car and was preparing for his P plate test in Kalgoorlie later this week.

Haydyn Grubb was tragically taken in a workshop crush accident

Growing up, Haydyn, the fourth eldest sibling in our family, was the craziest kid of us all, always laughing and joking, involved in everything! He was very family-oriented and spent a lot of his time with us at home in his younger years.

After leaving school, he came into his own, with the biggest circle of friends and busiest social calendar anyone could handle! He was bubbly, the life of any party and had the biggest heart.

Haydyn had moved back to Kalgoorlie about a year ago after a few years in Esperance, and some time in Sydney, as well as a few trips to Darwin to visit us, his brothers. We would like to thank our, and his, family, close friends, the Goldfields community and Monadelphous for their support during this terrible time.

We are going to miss you Haydz. Rest in peace.”
