Risk assessments completed for Henty recovery operations

Risk assessments for mine recovery at henty gold

Pybar Mining Service has provided an update this evening on the recovery operations at the Henty Gold mine in Tasmania where mineworker Cameron Goss remains buried. Risk Assessments on proposed activities are underway to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment in recovery.

Pybar confirmed that the focus of activities today was the completion of various risk assessments relating to the procedures and the equipment which will be used in the recovery process. 

It said “Specialist personnel who have arrived on site also completed site inductions, received updates on the incident location and assisted with risk assessments.”

A notice issued by the coroner has approved the recommencement of limited support at the mine to assist the recovery activity. This includes, pumping and services maintenance, limited personnel to service the mine fleet, and grading operations for the main decline.

Pybar Mining Services continues to provide on-going counselling and support for anyone that has been affected by this incident.

All mining operations at the Henty Gold Mine remain suspended.
