An investigation report has been published for a serious inrush incident that occurred at Cadia East mine in central NSW.
The inrush resulted from a build-up of water and cuttings in a blocked ventilation shaft during raiseboring operations. It pushed a 57 tonne bogger 30 to 40 m down a drive and a 6 tonne mini excavator about 300 m along a lower drive.
