Mines in NSW are being encouraged to register their business with Work Cover NSW’s latest health and safety initiative, Get Healthy at Work.

As a free, government-sponsored service, Get Healthy at Work aims to help NSW workplaces combat risk factors for chronic disease such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

By registering, workplaces can access free and confidential health checks for their workers. These checks are completed face-to-face by a qualified health practitioner on site or online. The 15 minute health check has been designed to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes and heart disease risk factors and motivate staff participation in workplace health activities.

The program also provides all  tools, resources and support to help workers make healthier food choices, become more active, achieve a healthy body weight and reduce high risk behaviours like smoking and harmful alcohol consumption.

To register your workplace visit the Get Healthy at Work website.
