The new Dräger X-plore 8700 (EX) powered air purifying respirator can be operated in potentially explosive atmospheres in zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. As a further addition to the existing X-plore 8000 family it is compatible with the system components.
This allows users to fully focus on the task at hand – even in potentially explosive areas. The conditions in industrial workplace environments place high demands on the respiratory equipment used.
Dräger has specifically developed the X-plore 8700 (EX) to provide the wearer with the best possible protection without hindering performance. Thanks to its intrinsically safe design, the X-plore 8700 (EX) is without the need for additional accessories.
The intrinsic safety is ensured through a patented overcurrent protection system for the battery as well as by the prevention of electrostatic charging through the use of ex-approved materials. In addition, electronic components with high power conversion are potted and safety circuits are redundant. Proven advantages for rugged environments
The X-plore 8000 series features a heavy-duty design that includes rubber protectors. The units are protected against dust and water jets from any direction according to IP65 standards. Two rechargeable-battery versions incorporating the latest Li-ion technology provide power for at least 4 or 8 hours respectively.
The air intake opening is protected to ensure that sparks or water coming from the front will not be sucked into the filter. The carrying system ensures optimal weight distribution. A special adapter plate provides a stable connection between unit and belt. The optional comfort padding is also available.
The hose connector features a 360° click adaptor for ease of use. The face pieces offer a high degree of comfort. They are designed for optimal air supply, preventing eye irritation caused by drafts.
The X-plore 8000 series offers a number of user-friendly standard and specialized carrying systems for standard and decontamination applications. Dräger also offers a large selection of open and closed face pieces, including half masks and full face masks, short and long hoods, helmets and protective visors. Standard and enhanced flexibility hoses are available and compatibility is ensured. All components and accessories can be combined to best fit your application and system upgrades are possible at any time.
Safety through intuitive operation The device recognizes the connected facepiece and automatically selects the appropriate minimum air flow rate.
An optical sensor prevents users from using the device without a filter.
The device also displays the saturation of the particle filter at all times. The filter system works via a ›Plug-and-Go‹ principle: simply connect it, and the device is ready for operation. In addition to optical and acoustical alarms, the device is equipped with a vibration alarm. The alarms alert the user if the rechargeable battery charge level is low, if there are obstructions in the airflow or if the filter is missing or blocked. The entire system features an error-proof hose connector and uniform colour codes on all exchangeable elements.
Easy to operate and maintain The X-plore 8000 series is practically maintenance-free, resulting in low operating costs. The self-adjustment and self-check systems feature advanced temperature and pressure sensor technology. In addition, it adjusts the flow rate to the respective environment.
The simple and efficient charging system allows rapid charging (under 4 hours for an empty rechargeable battery). The unit facilitates fast and easy disassembly for cleaning.
